An opening day attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Flights of Wonder debuted on April 22, 1998 at the Caravan Stage Theater in Asia. This exotic bird show focused on conservation and the natural behaviors of birds in the wild, featuring species such as macaws, hawks, and owls. Through a mix of humor and education, guests were introduced to the talents of these birds by a professional trainer and a comedic explorer character—either Guano Joe or Guano Jane—who added levity to the learning.
The show ran for nearly two decades, engaging guests with its message of environmental stewardship and awe-inspiring bird demonstrations. Its final performance took place on December 31, 2017, and it was replaced by UP! A Great Bird Adventure on April 22, 2018, as part of Animal Kingdom’s 20th anniversary celebration.
