Debuting in January 2009, the Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure was part of Disney’s “Living Character” initiative, designed to bring animated characters into real-world guest interactions. Set across seven World Showcase pavilions, the experience transformed Epcot into a high-tech scavenger hunt where guests became secret agents helping Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable thwart villains around the globe.

Guests received a customized “Kimmunicator”—a modified Motorola cell phone equipped with GPS, RFID, and animated video playback. Missions were triggered only when guests reached specific locations, activating hidden effects like:

  • Singing beer steins in Germany
  • A moving troll in Norway
  • A disappearing painting in France
  • A bubbling tea sample in the UK

Each mission lasted about 30 minutes, and guests could start at one of five recruitment stations. The Kimmunicator guided agents with voice prompts, animated clips, and real-time clues, making it one of the most immersive and tech-forward experiences of its time.

On May 19, 2012, the Kim Possible Adventure officially closed. Just weeks later, on June 23, 2012, it was replaced by Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure, based on Phineas and Ferb. The new version reused many of the same mechanics and effects but introduced:

  • A new device called the F.O.N.E. (Field Operative Notification Equipment)
  • Missions themed around Perry the Platypus and Dr. Doofenshmirtz
  • Updated visuals and humor tailored to the Phineas and Ferb audience

The Agent P version ran until 2019, when it was announced that the experience would be re-themed again—this time to DuckTales World Showcase Adventure, which officially opened in December 2022
