Brought to the Studios as part of Disney Parks’ Happiest Celebration on Earth, Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show opened officially to guests on May 5, 2005. It sister attraction, located in Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris, opened in March of 2002 as “Moteurs… Action! Stunt Show Spectacular” and continues operation to this day.
The Lights, Motors, Action! show lasted approximately 40-minutes and used more than 40 vehicles in a myriad of stunts and chases performed by professional stunt drivers. Set in a Mediterranean town in France, the show followed it’s “hero” in the red car as it was pursued by enemies using a myriad of cars, motorcycles and jet skis. The show used a mix of stunts, film, pyrotechnic effects and special guests, such as Herby the Love Bug and Lightning McQueen, to entertain guests.
When it was originally built, Lights, Motors, Action! resulted in cutting the Backlot Tour nearly by half, including the full removal of the classic Residential Street area.
To make way for Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land, Lights, Motors, Action! gave it’s last performance on April 2, 2016, after which time demolition quickly began.
