Premiering during the 1993 holiday season, The Magical World of Barbie was a 20-minute musical stage show performed at the America Gardens Theater in EPCOT. Created to celebrate Barbie’s role as EPCOT’s “Ambassador of Friendship,” the show featured life-sized Barbie “dolls” portrayed by live performers, including Miss Oregon Elizabeth Simmons as Barbie. With dazzling costume changes, elaborate sets, and energetic choreography, Barbie and her friends—including Ken, Skipper, Midge, and Stacie—traveled the globe through song and dance. The show ran until May 1995, leaving behind a legacy of pink sparkle and 90s nostalgia.
