The Streets of America area of Disney-MGM/Disney’s Hollywood Studios featured an area of movie quality facades, shop windows and storefronts to create the illusion of being on a street in San Francisco, and later New York. Originally only accessible via the Backlot Tour, the streets later opened to all guests and became the gateway for accessing attractions such as Lights, Motors, Action!

During the days of the park working as a real production studio, this area was often used for actual television, film and commercial shots. At the rear of the main street, which featured facades from a myriad of large US cities, a large mural of a steeply sloped San Francisco street was original portrayed, later replaced by a busy New York City view.

Though a popular area of the park in its own right, the area is probably best known as being the location of the incredible Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights from 1995 to 2016.
