During the late 1970s and 1980s, the Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village—later known as Walt Disney World Village—featured a dedicated play area designed to entertain young children (and give their parents a break while shopping). The space included a large slide, fire pole, and other playground-style equipment, offering a bit of Disney fun outside the theme parks. Nestled among the shops and restaurants, this modest play zone became a beloved memory for families visiting the Marketplace during its early years.
