Opening in April of 2001 in the theater space referred to as the Walt Disney Theater, “Play It!” allowed guests to be immersed in the popular television series “Who Wants to be a Millionaire.”
The theater was transformed into a near exact replica of the one used in the series with each show running about 25-minutes. Contestants completed for points and had the opportunity to win special rewards for each point level they reached. In addition to the guest in the “hot seat,” guests in the audience could play along answering the questions as they were asked. If the guest in the “hot seat” got a question wrong (or decided to give up) the guest in the audience with the current high score was invited to take their place.
In August of 2006, the show closed to make way for a lengthy refurbishment of the theater into a new attraction, Toy Story Mania.
