Asia was added to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in March 1999, bringing the spirit of Southeast Asia to the park. Anchored by the Maharajah Jungle Trek and Kali River Rapids (1999), the land expanded with the towering Expedition Everest in 2006, quickly becoming one of the park’s signature thrills. With its richly detailed village of Anandapur, Asia blends cultural storytelling, lush landscapes, and adventurous attractions that highlight both the beauty and mystery of the natural world.
