The Transportation Pavilion opened with EPCOT Center on October 1, 1982, sponsored by General Motors. Its main attraction was World of Motion, a humorous dark ride tracing the history of transportation, alongside the TransCenter, which offered exhibits and displays about automotive technology. World of Motion closed in 1996, and the pavilion was later home to Test Track, which opened in 1999 and continues today under Chevrolet sponsorship. Though the attractions have changed, the pavilion has always remained EPCOT’s showcase for innovation in transportation.
