An opening day attraction, Tropical Serenade’s main show was nearly identical to the original “Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room” show at Disneyland. The Magic Kingdom version, however, had a different pre-show featuring a waterfall over a doorway that opened to reveal Clyde and Claude, two birds discussing the show, atop a tropical Tiki-like statue.

As guests exited the preshow area, they entered a round theater of seating, above which could be seen perches with birds and decorations hanging from the ceiling.

A guest favorite, Tropical Serenade featured over 150 animatronic birds, flowers and tikis singing songs like “The Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room”, “Let’s All Sing Like the Birdies Sing” and the “Hawaiian War Chant”.

In September 1997, Tropical Serenade closed it’s doors to make way for a modified version of the show called “The Enchanted Tiki Room (Under New Management)”.

In August 2011 Tropical Serenade returned in a slightly shorter version of its original form, now titled “Walt Disney’s Tropical Serenade.”
