After the Spirit of Pocahontas closed in February of 1996, the backlot stage underwent a brief refurbishment and re-opened just 4 months later with a new show called The Hunchback of Notre Dame – A Musical Adventure. The show was just over a half-hour long and featured live actors as well as puppetry to tell the story.
Though not to make way for a new attraction, the show closed in September of 2002 at which time the theater began being used for seasonal events such as the Star Wars Weekends and the Night of Joy.
